Nokia N97 Available from Vodafone in July

Industry experts are saying that Summer 2009 is going to be massive in terms of smartphone releases, with new phones such as the Palm Pre, version three of the iPhone and Nokia's N97. The Nokia N97 is aimed squarely at the iPhone, and it's a great looking phone, as you can see from the picture of it below. England Win 4-0 in Kazakhstan

Congratulations to the England Football Team, who have won today's World Cup Qualifier in Almaty, Kazakhstan 4-0. Kazakhstan made a spirited start, but the quality of the England team won through, with the England Goals as follows:

Barry 40, Heskey 45, Rooney 73, Lampard 78 penalty.

England are currently top of their qualifying group (group 6).

Digital Britain aims for Broadband for All

The Government hopes to secure Britain's place at the forefront of the global digital economy, and has its own Digital Britain taskforce with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to secure this goal. In January 2009 "Digital Britain: The Interim Report" was published, in which the Government stated its aim of 100% broadband coverage for the UK by 2012, with a minimum broadband speed for all of 2 Mbit/s. Of course, mobile broadband is expected to play a major role in making this target a reality, and more radio spectrum will be available for mobile broadband services once the analogue TV signal has been switched off throughout the UK, a process which is due for completion by 2012.

Eric Cantona on Jonathon Ross

Eric Cantona was a guest of Jonathon Ross tonight, promoting his new film Looking for Eric, released 12th June, which tells the story of a postman going through a difficult time, who is given the strength to make it through by none other than footballing genius Eric Cantona. There were evidently a few Man United fans in the audience, as there was many a cheer when Eric talked about his time at the Club, saying it was one of the best times of his life. Eric will have a lot to live up to if his acting career is going to be as successful as his footballing career, but we wish him every success, and perhaps he will take inspiration from another guest on tonight's Jonathon Ross show, none other than Dustin Hoffmann, who was also promoting a new film, the romantic comedy Last Chance Harvey, which is released today, 5th June.

Big Brother 2009 Underway

So Big Brother 2009 has kicked off, and the various housemates have paraded in. The big shake up for this series is that none of the housemates are officially classed as housemates yet, they all have to win their places. Rodrigo was the first housemate given the chance to secure his place, by shaving off the eyebrows of a fellow contestant and drawing glasses and a moustache onto their face with permanent marker ... and Noirin was the first to volunteer, so she and Rodrigo are now the first two official housemates. The rest of the contestants were then made to change into clothes provided by Big Brother ... so it looks as though Big Brother is going to be pretty mean this year.
