Big Jackpot for Euromillions Draw on 18th Dec 2009

The Euromillions draw for Friday 18th December 2009 offers a big estimated jackpot of £54m, which should come in handy if you've gone over budget on your Christmas shopping this year. What's more, for the first time, there is going to be a Euromillions draw on Christmas Day itself, and if you had the winning ticket it would probably be the best ever Christmas present you've ever had! There's a further chance to win on Boxing Day, when the National Lottery Draw takes place.

Joe McElderry Wins the X Factor

Our congratulations go to Joe McElderry on becoming the winner of the X Factor. The young singer did look quite shocked to win, but it certainly did not shock us. Joe has an amazing tone to his voice, and his good looks will ensure heart throb status. As Dermot said to him on the show, "Your life is about to change in a big way". Let's hope that fame treats this boy well, as he is undoubtedly already a big hit, and superstar status is probably not far away, which will be a lot to deal with at his age. Still, we're sure he will be guided well by his mentor Cheryl Cole, who knows only too well the demands of sudden stardom, and Mr Cowell will no doubt want to ensure that the huge talent that is Joe McElderry is handled sensibly. The people of South Shields have a new hero, and the girls of the UK have a new pin-up for their bedroom wall ... and Cheryl is no doubt pleased to have been able to guide one of her contestants to victory.

Joe McElderry's debut single is called The Climb, and will be released on 16th December 2009. You can pre-order it from Amazonif you're already a big fan.
