Music fans will be pleased to know there's live coverage of the Isle of Wight Festival on ITV2 on Sunday 14th June 2009 from 8-9pm and from 10-11.30pm. Acts will include The Script, The Pigeon Detectives, Simple Minds, the Charlatans, the Pixies and music legend Neil Young.
On Saturday we have already enjoyed Sharon Corr (playing her blue fiddle), The View and Ladyhawk. Johnny Burrell, a big supporter of Friends of the Earth, did an exclusive acoustic performance of Behind Your Barricade, and Pendulum put in a high energy performance that the crowd loved. McFly was another high energy band who know how to have fun on stage. They are quite a bad these days and their bassist has a very cool bass with a lit up fretboard.
There was an acoustic performance from The Stereophonics. Will Young, who is working on a dance album with Groove Armada and wants to open a bric a brac shop, performed the Bryan Adams cover "Amy". The Rakes were also playing, they have quite a following these days.
Finally, we saw Calvin Harris performing I'm Not Alone. Wearing a shiny black jacket, he had the crowd jumping up and down with their glowsticks.
