Last minute talks between London Underground bosses and the RMT Union have been taking place to try to avert the Tube Strike which is due to start at 7pm tonight, 9th June 2009, and last for 24 hours. If it does go ahead, then for some it may be easier to book a hotel room in Central London instead of braving the daily commute.
Any strike is also going to cause difficulties for football fans travelling to England v Andorra at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday evening, as closure of Wembley Park Tube Station would mean the tens of thousands of fans would have to use buses or cars, but there is a lack of car parking in the Wembley Area. Fans may also consider booking a London hotel room instead.
